The URSA Live Encoder is a live processing module designed for use with the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive 100G. It slides into the camera's media module slot and enables the camera to be used for live immersive production. The module encodes live video into ProRes for output as SMPTE-2110 IP video via the camera's 100G Ethernet port.
By compressing the stereo, high frame rate image streams from the URSA Cine Immersive 100G's dual sensors, the URSA Live Encoder reduces the camera's data rate to under 50 Gb/s. This means two cameras can be combined into a single 100G Ethernet connection, making live immersive production far more practical for broadcast environments and live events.
