Sony FX5 EVF Cable Handle Riser allows both the FX5 EVF (DVF-EL1) and the FX5 XLR Handle (XLR-H2) to be attached simultaneously.
The extension cable base screws into the FX5 body using two captive 1/4-20 screws, and the Mi-Shoe adapter slides in from the back and attaches to the cable base using two M4 captive screws.
All 21 pins on the Mi-Shoe pass through, so any Sony / 3rd party Mi-Shoe accessories can be used. Note that traditional camera flashes will not work on the hot shoe.
Once both components are on the FX5, Sony's XLR-H2 handle can be installed, and audio will pass through to the camera body.
The EVF end of the cable has two 1/4-20 holes for attaching the DVF-EL1, one 1/4-20 with ARRI locating pins on the side for attaching the included TWIST Mount EVF Spud, and one on the bottom for general use.
The 18" flexible cable allows the viewfinder to be positioned in a variety of ways, including shoulder mount or above the XLR handle if you choose the Sony FX5 EVF Cable and Mounting Kit, which includes those additional parts. Â
