The Canon 10x16 KAS S is a portable lens for 8K broadcast cameras with a 1.25-inch sensor. It is designed for ultra-high-definition broadcasting and video production and expands Canon's array of 8K compatible zoom lenses.
Excellent Optical Performance & High Magnification
The Canon 10x16 KASS S is a lightweight shoulder-mount 10x zoom lens (16-160mm) with a 16mm wide angle of view. It retains f2.8 brightness throughout the zoom range, reaching 160mm on the telephoto end. Fluorite, UD lenses*, Hi-UD lenses*, and wide-diameter aspherical lenses are among the lens features that assist reduce chromatic and spherical aberrations and improve image quality.

Supporting BT.2020, the standard for 4K/8K broadcasts has significantly enhanced colour gamut, brightness, and resolution when compared to BT.709, the standard for conventional HD broadcasting. This has resulted in a significantly larger range of colours, high-resolution video reproduction with exceptional tone, realistic texture, and depth.
Compact & Lightweight for Mobility
The Canon 10x16 KAS S is a compact and lightweight lens, with optical performance that supports 8K cameras and the durability of traditional 4K lenses, allowing for maximum mobility.
High-Performance Digital Drive Unit
It has a 16-bit absolute value encoder that can power on without needing to be initialised. At the time of start-up, the camera side aberration correction function, position detection, and viewfinder position display are all available. The 10x16 KAS S has three 20-pin connectors, allowing for the readout of high-accuracy lens data while employing the zoom and focus commands, which is a useful feature for virtual production platforms.
