Turkey Shoot to premiere at MIFF

Turkey Shoot, a contemporary version of the classic Australian film from 1982, will premiere this month at the Melbourne International Film Festival. Camera rental and support proudly provided by Lemac Melbourne.

Director of Photography Warwick Field selected the Sony PMW-F55 camera package, opting to shoot 4K RAW. Lenses used included the new Zeiss 28-80mm T2.9 Compact Zoom, offering pristine sharp images and portability.

Warwick said, “It was an incredibly short shoot, 15 days, and had its challenges getting it done. But we did it - on schedule. We had a great crew with several being less experienced but very enthusiastic. An excellent training ground for some up and comers. The film was an ambitious project from producer Antony I Ginnane, director Jon Hewitt and writers Jon Hewitt and Belinda McClory - and it pulls it off in its genre. It is a fierce film, fast moving, plenty of action with the expected shoot outs and car chases and the odd exploding head…..an homage to the cult classic of the same name from the 1980’s. Apparently a favourite of Tarantino’s in the Ozploitation genre.”

The colour grade was completed at The Post Lounge using Nucoda.

Turkey Shoot will premiere on Sunday 10th August at 9:00pm at Hoyts 10, Melbourne, as part of MIFF. For tickets, click here.
