Mad Bastards is a forthcoming new feature film from Mushroom Pictures. Shot using Lemac’s Aaton 35III Super-35 camera kit, the film promises to deliver outstanding images to complement a powerful and moving story about indigenous Australians, their family and culture.
It is the story of TJ, a former ‘street warrior,’ who begins to question his life of violence through interaction with his son and the Aboriginal community of Five Rivers, a frontier town in the remote Kimberley region of northern Western Australia.
35mm film is an excellent choice for shooting in remote and unforgiving locations such as the Kimberley, not only for it’s rugged design and simplicity, but also for the quality of the pictures achievable, given the spectacular and iconic nature of the setting. We here at Lemac are extremely excited about this project and can’t wait to see the finished result.
