The Canon CN-E Prime Lenses were designed in accordance with long-established expectations of the world’s cinematographers. Optically they are designed to be on the warm side, providing a very organic and a natural look matched with other Canon Cinema Zoom Lenses. The CN-E Primes were designed to 4K optical performance specifications. Optically, this means they deliver a high contrast from the center of the image to the extremities, they have tightened specs on monochromatic and chromatic aberrations, and they have minimized focus breathing. Physically compact and light weight, all of the CN-E Primes feature the same 300 degree focus scale rotation, an 11-blade iris, unified 114mm front diameter and unified positioning of the focus and iris scales, which in turn makes them a great match for cine production use. The CN-E Primes feature a large image circle allowing them to be used for both Full Frame or Super35 formats.
