Breaker Morant The Retrial

Lemac’s Canon C300PL cameras have been utilized for the two-part documentary Breaker Morant the Retrial.

Shot by Jaems Grant ACS, the production has also used a wide range of PL-mount lenses from Lemac, including the new Canon 30-105mm T2.8 Cinema Zoom, Zeiss 70-200mm T2.9 Compact Zoom and Zeiss T1.5 Superspeed Compact Primes.

The crew have recently wrapped filming in Charters Towers, Queensland, and will continue filming in South Africa. The two-part documentary will capture a rare moment of living history, presenting a retrial 110 years after Harry ‘The Breaker’ Morant was executed by the British during the Boer War.

The film is being produced by Georgia Wallace Crabbe and Gregory Miller, with investment from Screen Australia, for the History Channel. Discussing the investment into several documentary productions including Breaker Morant the Retrial, Screen Australia’s Documentary Manager, Liz Stevens, said, “Backed by high-calibre and experienced filmmaking, these documentaries will shine a light on a broad slice of Australian life. The result will be compelling and entertaining stories.”
