The Sekonic CINE DUALMASTER the most advanced and precise multi-function light meter for Cine or Video just got better.

The world' s first meter with exposure profiling for digital cameras, also available in versions with built-in radio control, and for cine use. The L-758 features the same basic specification as the popular L-558 , which it supercedes. The new and unique feature is the ability of the meter to be profiled to match the exposure characteristics of a digital camera or film. Every digital camera sensor and film differs in its ability to capture a range of tones (usually referred to as Dynamic Range). With digital cameras, additional functions such as the processor and type of file compression affect the result.

The L-758 stores up to 3 profiles, so if you use one camera or film you can profile it for say, studio flash lighting, daylight, and fluorescent lighting. Or, if you use different cameras or films, they can be programmed for the most commonly used light source. To profile, using the Sekonic Test Target, seven exposures are made, and separately, readings are taken with the meter to determine any difference between the camera's and meter's sensitivity.

The test data is then evaluated by using the eyedropper or pointer tool in an image editing program such as Photoshop to determine the RGB values. Dynamic range and clipping points can then be found. The data is then entered into the Data Transfer Software (supplied with the meter) on a computer, which automatically calculates the compensation settings and sets the synamic range and clipping points. Using the provided USB cable, data is then transferred from computer to the meter. You can also enter exposure profile information directly into the meter.

L-758DR includes a 4-channel PocketWizard compatible radion trigger, compatible with any PocketWizard receiver or transceiver. L-758C is for the specialist cine or videographer, with shutter speeds from 1 sec to 1/1000th sec, filter factor compensation, shutter angles and other features.
