You need this cable if you want to connect Tentacle to devices that accept timecode over XLR like the Tascam HD-P2. This cable is also be the right choice for connecting Tentacle to cameras and audio-recorders with audio-XLR inputs but without build in timecode-capabilities. Here the timecode signal will be recorded as an audio signal on a soundtrack. These cameras include Canon C100, Sony EX1 / FS100 / FS700 / FS7 (without XDCA-FS7) and others.
