The GF-8 Crane's track record is second to none and has established new dimensions in the concept of lightweight, rideable and remote crane systems. Along with it's predecessor, the GF-6, there are now over 150 units in use worldwide. The list of satisfied clients continues to grow.
The GF-8 offers a wide range of options and solutions that more than meet the demands and requirements of modern film and video production. Throughout the world, an ever increasing number of production companies, grips, camera operators, remote head operators and rental companies can testify to the versatility, stability and durability of the GF-8 Crane System.
A modern, lightweight design combined with high grade pan & tilt bearing systems provides for unmatched ease of movement and remains steady at all times.
With the GF-8, all respective rigging and parallelogram rods are identical, further improving and providing a logical and easy to understand assembly procedure.
As confirmation of GFM′s high manufacturing and safety standards, the TÜV Süddeutschland have safety type tested and approved the GF-8 Crane System according to European guidelines for the scope of application under EC directives especially EC directive 98 / 37 / EC. This certification is based on state-of-the-art-technology.
The GF-8 Crane System can be built to adapt to most requirements on
almost any location, ranging from jib arm to rideable to remote
crane.Numerous man-riding versions and remote versions can be built
according to your requirements and imagination.
The GF-8′s angle
adjusters mean that there are no dedicated front sections required.
Unlike other cranes, the GF-8 has no set nose piece or bucket end.
During assembly you don't need to follow a strict numerical set-up
procedure.
Version 8, for example, consists of 4 x 150cm (5′) and
1 x 100cm (3′ 3") extension arms to the front of the crane. The 4
longer arms are identical to each other. Naturally the parallelogramm
rods and rigging rods follow the same principal.
Shorter crane
versions can be assembled with either an optional 40cm (1′ 6"), 75cm
(2′ 6") or 100cm (3′ 3") as the bucket end rather than the standard
127cm / 4' 2" extension. The front of the arm can be built from the
remaining sections. The angle adjusters are then mounted to either of
the ends. As an aditional option, for jib arm use, a counterweight rod
can be used instead of the counterweight bucket, further increasing the
versatility of the GF-8. In it's jib arm configuration, the GF-8 can be
mounted on other dollies by using the GFM Euro and Mitchell adapters to
GF-8.
It goes without saying that this ultra modular crane system provides an endless number of camera support possibilities.
