Lemac has offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane and provides Production Services & Equipment Rentals and Sales to the Broadcast & Motion Picture Film market in Australia.

Position Summary

This is an integral position as part of a small team in a major film and television equipment rental company. Core responsibilities involve frequent and clear communication with clients and staff,  supervision of bookings and hands-on equipment prep. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about camera gear with sound technical knowledge, strong customer service skills and a demonstrated ability to learn.

Selection Criteria

  1. Film and digital equipment knowledge/interest.

    Applicant must have a proven understanding of the concepts of film, digital cinema, broadcast/HD camera equipment, whether through industry experience, tertiary qualification, or both.

  2. Client interaction.

    Applicant should have a track record of customer service and/or client interaction from previous employment experience.

  3. Internal and external communications.

    Applicant must be able to demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.

  4. Organizational skills and computer literacy.

    Applicants must be highly organized and able to multi-task, meet deadlines and have a general understanding of cross-platform databases.  

  5. Teamwork.

    Applicants must be able to work cohesively as part of a team, in a professional and positive manner.

  6. Accountability and increased responsibilities.

    Applicants must have the capacity for taking responsibility for each job undertaken and also the flexibility to undertake additional responsibilities in the future as required.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Equipment Prep

    A key responsibility for bookings staff is to gain hands-on experience with equipment prep in order to better understand it’s functions and provide support for prep staff & clients.

  2. Internal Communications

    Frequent communication amongst team members, staff from other departments and interstate offices is required.  This is to ensure up-to-date tracking of gear using internal database, adherence to company procedure, gear knowledge updates, etc.

  3. Equipment Bookings

    Taking enquiries (phone, email, in person), advising on best uses of gear, checking and arranging gear availability, quoting, communicating important information to prep staff, taking payment, ensuring timely return of equipment and invoicing.

  4. Internal Freight

    Ensuring the safe and timely travel of equipment between interstate offices via freight services.

The successful applicant will be provided with supporting materials (OH&S Guidelines, Company Policy documents and instructional manuals) and basic training/induction by another staff member.
