The Slap was one of the first major productions shot on Lemac’s Arri Alexa cameras, and has been a huge success!
Shot by Andrew Commis and produced by Matchbox Pictures for ABC TV, The Slap is an 8-part series based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Christos Tsiolkas. The series has also recently been bought by the Sundance Channel for distribution in Europe and Asia, as well as DirecTV and TVOntario for distribution in the US and Canada respectively, through international distributor DCD Rights.
At the time of production, Alexa was hot off the production line from Arri, and The Slap proved to be an excellent test run of the Apple ProRes internal record workflow that Alexa offers, and has since been applied to countless other productions.
