Batting For Change

The Batting for Change fund-raising campaign is kicking off for a 2nd year. Led by NSW Blues cricketer Ryan Carters the campaign invites Big Bash Cricket fans to pledge to donate a small amount of money for every six hit by the Sydney Sixers during the 2014/2015 Cricket Big Bash season.

Lemac proudly sponsored production of the promotional video when approached by Cinematographer, Cameron Ford

"It was great for us to have some proper gear to use, because what we were staring down the barrel of was shooting it on a 5D or whatever we could get our hands on"

Lemac provided a complete production kit of Canon C300 in PL mount with Zeiss 35mm T2.1 primes, follow focus, matte box, head and legs, audio package and portable lighting kit.

"I got a call from Ryan Carters on the Monday… and as I started making calls and organising things I spoke to Charlie at Lemac and he jumped on board straight away, which was really cool. Then after just a bit of pre-production over the phone and by email, I was couch surfing at Ryan's place and over 2 days we got it done”

After last year's successful raising of $30,755, Batting For Change were able to meet their target and build 3 new classrooms for the Year 11 & 12 students of Kathmandu, Nepal.

""This year, they're trying to double that. They're trying to raise over $60,000 for the purpose of sending teenage girls in India to tertiary education ... a lot of bright young students don't have the financial ability to get from secondary to higher learning, so that's what they're focusing on"
“We’re very thankful to Lemac for helping out because we definitely wouldn't have something as great looking as we do now without everyone throwing their support behind the project and helping out"
"You know, it's rare that a project comes along when everyone wins but I feel like that's true with this one for the Batting For Change fundraiser"

The second round of Batting For Change will launch in November - keep an eye on Lemac's Facebook & Twitter pages for a link and more information when it's running.
